The problem
LibrosActivos (librosactivos.com.ar) is a marketplace where several bookstores sell the same titles. The traditional model created a double problem: duplicated catalogs —each store uploading its own page for the same book— and unmanageable manual work: publishing thousands of titles by hand, per store.
On top of that, there was no integration with the wholesale supplier (Fierro B2B): the inventory available to the bookstores lived in an external system, out of the marketplace's reach.
The solution
01A multi-vendor master catalog
On top of Dokan SPMV we built a master catalog: a single page per book, on which each bookstore publishes its offer. Buyers compare price and availability across all stores on one page.
02A bulk-operations API
A custom plugin extends Dokan's REST API with batch operations of up to 100,000 products: async jobs with real-time progress, ETA, notification webhooks, history and smart retries. Loads that used to time out now run in the background.
03Sync with the wholesale supplier
A Python client consumes Fierro's B2B API and publishes the full catalog into the marketplace: 4,900+ books, automatically linked to their master product by ISBN (99.9% accuracy), creating missing masters along the way. Ready to sync prices and stock every 1-2 hours.
04An ecosystem of custom plugins
Bestseller rankings per period, an interactive map of bookstores across Argentina, catalog error reports straight into Google Sheets, and a quality-image importer for the master catalog.
Results
- 4,864 offers published with price and stock, 0 errors in the full load.
- 99.9% of books automatically linked to their master product by ISBN.
- Bulk operations of up to 100,000 products per batch, with no timeouts.
- 8+ custom plugins running the marketplace in production.
